Hobart and William Smith Colleges Fall 2019 in Rome program

The Hobart and William Smith Colleges Fall 2019 study abroad program in Rome is a full immersion experience that uses the whole city as a classroom. Students will gain a broader perspective on Italy’s history, culture and daily life through interdisciplinary courses, field studies and short excursions.
Professor Leah Himmelhoch, Faculty Leader, will teach the course “An Ancient Tourist’s ‘ Rough Guide ‘ to Visit Imperial Rome.
Students will also take two courses designed by Gustolab International.  “Italian Food and Culture” is an experiential learning course focusing on food identities and multiculturalism in Rome. “Contemporary Italian Society” analyzes aspects such as language, family, politics, religion, interaction between economic and social progress.
