We offer programs throughout the year. You can choose among our Fall, Spring and Summer Programs or decide to do an internship in Italy. If you want to travel further you can participate in our Japan or Vietnam Summer Programs.
Being at Gustolab International Food Systems and Sustainability is more than study abroad. You will be immersed in a unique environment of constant investigation and discovery by participating in daily Italian life, visiting various neighborhoods, shops, restaurants, and markets.
Courses are richly supplemented by field work, special projects, workshops, excursions, and activities. Your will gain valuable skill sets by stepping outside of the familiar “comfort zone” of home, adapting to a new international context. Gustolab International Food Systems and Sustainability gives students everything: guidance, structure, support, knowledge, and fun.

All our classes are in English. We also offer Italian Language courses for all levels to help you navigate through your study abroad living experience. Visit our Courses Descriptions page to see all of our offerings.
Students will receive a Record of Study from GLi. During the summer program there is the opportunity to obtain an official transcript from University of Massachussets Amherst. Remember to always consult with your home institution about credit transfer requirements and procedure.

We have our own scholarship program and work with home institutions to facilitate the use of grants or scholarships from your university. Learn more ›

All our programs include housing accommodations. Locations are in nearby residential areas to encourage students to integrate into the local community. All accommodations are within walking or commuting distance of the school.
We have created our Visa & Permits page to provide an overview of the necessary documents and steps to follow in order to get the right Visa.
We take the safety and security of our program participants very seriously and provide you with the tools to prepare your trip abroad. Our wellness and safety advisor is a skilled member of our staff who is knowledgeable about Italy, Italian culture and has experience in emergency and crisis response. The advisor is prepared to assist students at any time, day or night, during illness or other emergency situations. We also require all students to enroll in an insurance policy with Cultural Insurance Services International.

Advisors and Faculty
Yes, there are many ways for students to study at GLi. We can create an affiliation with your institution to pre-approve GLi courses. This typically guarantees your students will receive full credit for their study at GLi. Students can study with us and then petition your school for credit. We can also work with you to arrange a custom program for your school. Please join our mailing list for additional information.
